She was born in Roswell on the 29th of March 1985. Gerina Michelle was her maiden name. Gerina Stevenson was born in Mexico as the daughter of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. Stevenson is of Mexican roots, yet is American in nationality. Since the age of a child, she has had a strong desire to participate in sports. Gerina started playing golf at the age of she turned 15 years old. Gerina attended Goddard High School. She won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament at the age of high school. She also played volleyball at the national level. She attended the University of Texas in 2003. During her senior years she took home every single tournament she participated in. During her undergraduate career she was awarded Conference USA individual champion player of the year, and was named UTEP Female Athlete Of The Year.
