Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on August 20th 1974 in Aviano Italy). American actress. Famous for her naive and adorable characters. Adams was the daughter of a U.S. Army officer in Italy and then grew up within Castle Rock Colorado. In the late 1990s, she started to act and dance professionally at Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota where she was a part of the mock-documentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) which focused on beauty contests. Her screen debut was a huge success with the role of an obnoxious but friendly contestant, Janet moved into Los Angeles where she began a professional acting career. Her husband Tony Curtis was her partner between June 1950 and September 1992. They had two kids, Kelly Curtis as well as Jamie Lee Curtis. Her film career started in mid- 1940s, after she was signed by MGM. Her name was noticed by Norma shearer. She appeared in several popular films in the next decade, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis-film from 1954).
