Katherine Heigl is open about being raised living in "a the white bubble." She also shares the impact that this realization has had on the parenting style of her adoptees who are multi-racial. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane" told a reporter that it was not important how dark her skin color was for her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted sister she realized the difference in how people took care of her. "I inquired of Meg what she thought about being that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and the times she was out by herself. She responded "Oh Yes! All the all the time!" Heigl admitted to her parents that it made her realize just how naive she had been. The actor said she became upset, but she felt that she had to channel that energy to aid her adopted daughters. Heigl and her long-time husband -- singer Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. The couple took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8), who is black, in 2009.
